This is NOT an authentic Japanese restaurant. Although the interior could look authentic, the rest is not. We ordered the roasted tofu and two tenshoku sets. Here are some of the not so authentic things: The sets have sashimi but no soy sauce until we asked BBQ beef was cold The side dishes are not really Japanese side dishes Miso soup is Bland, without seaweed or Tofu Fried fish tasted bad rice is undercooked napkin... You need to wait until the waitress/water let you in, which feels a bit unwilling.

Very delicious and authentic Japanese cuisine! the tempera is really amazing! I wish the bark in sukiyaki isn't cut?
More home-style cooking than fine dining. All the dishes we ordered in the photo aren?t bad, but nothing to write home about. I would suggest staying away from the Saimen, though. It?s more like what I?d do at home dumping whatever is in the fridge into the bowl.
