Magics Beach Grill - Kailua Kona

We ordered the daily specials and they were not disappointed. fish (kanpachi) perfectly boiled without overwhelming sauces or spices; spices were perfectly matched spicy (but not burning hot) and great combinations of textures and aromas. server (jason) was personal, friendly and welcoming. it was a perfect jubilee dinner.

Don't let this new chef out of your hands! By far the best cooked and seasoned mahi mahi on the island! Four Seasons can't hold a candle! Kudo's! The wedge salad was the creamiest ever with huge chunks of blue cheese. Garnished beautifully! The ahi ahi clam chowder was deliciously hardy! Service was quick friendly and never far away for any needs. We would have been back if we had stayed longer!! Congrats!

Very disappointing! I know there is a labor shortage and supply chain problems, but please plan accordingly. Don’t book tables so close together. Go to the store and purchase a substitute wine. Not only did we have to wait for our table so we didn’t “overwhelm the server”, once we were seated , we sat for another 15 minutes before someone helped us. Our server was fine, but they got the order wrong and my husband had to wait for his food while I ate. Dining out has lost its appeal, it is no longer something special. Customer service doesn’t exist, food is average to poor and the crowds are ridiculous. Go to Magics for the atmosphere, it is beautiful. If we every return, lunchtime might be better. Good place for tourists to see the sunset.

We had a nice dinner at Magics last night. The three entrees were great (burger, fish and chips, and fish sandwich), and our server Thomas was really nice, responsive, and delivered everything perfectly as ordered. We will return.

Excellent location next to the beach. Staff was awesome. We had lunch there earlier in the week so were a bit disappointed to see the same menu for dinner but overall it was very good. Definitely recommend it.
