The Top Shop - Kaikoura

The young man at the counter was incredibly attentive and friendly, greeting everyone with big smiles. The food was excellent; I would recommend the fish bites, but the fish itself was also very good. I would definitely return.

Great service, lovely guys, even suggested we try chicken salt on it for free which was really tasty! Sadly they were out of blue cod but they're popular for a reason. Best to get fish here as there's only one shop in town and there's always a queue for that. Also this has great opening hours (see photo).

Really great staff fish n chips were lovely, very crispy light batter Elephant fish was superb. Well done team! We will be back next time we are in Kaikoura recommend you to other traveller's. Close to NZMCA Park makes it even better! Helen Barry Hills

We had the fried Blue Cod and Gurnard and they were super tasty. Prices were good and the owner couple were friendly. One of them is an ex-commercial fisherman so you know it’s gonna be good! Also note that it’s under new management as of several months ago so take the older reviews with a grain of (chicken) salt.

Excellent fish and chips. Not greazy or oily, perfect. I had the Gurnard, perfectly cooked. Granddaughter had a hot dog, loved it. Both staff very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend.
