Hapuku Lodge Tree Houses

A truly exceptional hotel 5 star quality, attention to detail and outstanding service from all the staff especially Thomas, Francine. Mike, Janet, Jake and Gisella, who did everything they could to make sure that our trip was a memorable one! The room was furnished got an exceptionally high standard with the best quality bed linen, robes and towels . We loved the Japanese sunken bath! Excellent food in the restaurant including the best sourdough bread and home produced olive oil and the banana bread at breakfast was totally delicious too! The pool area had spectacular countryside views with deer and the backdrop of spectacular mountains. The one evening we used the jacuzzi in the “secret garden” area a truly magical spot under the stars! Thank you everyone for such a wonderful experience that is clearly well managed by Emile and where all the staff seem so happy to work there!

What an absolutely magical place. We had a magnificent stay in one of the tree houses and didnt want to leave. Spectacular rooms views with the 'wow ' factor and so many little touches that make this special. Top tier service, heated pool, hot tub and sauna, fantastic dining experience for dinner and breakfast, and a lovely location for views (despite the clouds! with a 30min walk to the beach. Can 't wait to return. Service: 5

We stayed two nights at this magnificent lodge—in a high tech two bedroom tree house! The location is amazing—chicken and sheep and olive trees. The meals were gourmet five star prepared in an open kitchen with meticulous detail and fresh ingredients. The staff is attentive to every detail. Benny showed us every amenity and took no shortcuts to make sure we were welcome. He even prepared a three page handwritten note of suggested stops and activities for the rest of our South Island drive. And then—I left my hat behind I guess in the room— and I received an email and they express mailed it to my next hotel! Another example of a kind team who deliver expert hospitality. So if you are whale watching or fishing in Kaikōura— stay in innovative kind luxury at the Hapuku Lodge.
