Groper Garage Bar Restaurant

The restaurant offered a limited selection of gluten-free options on the menu. I tried the mussels, garlic flatbread, and chicken salad, all of which were quite enjoyable. They assured me they would take precautions for celiac guests, but couldn't guarantee there wouldn't be cross-contamination in their small kitchen. They mentioned they could pan fry the fish and serve it with a salad instead of chips, as they didn't have a separate fryer. I wasn't entirely convinced about their processes, so I was a bit hesitant. However, since I was with two other people, I decided to take the chance. Fortunately, everything seemed to turn out fine.

As Groper Garage was only newly opened, their kitchen wasn’t working at full capacity for dinner. We decided to search TripAdvisor and headed to The Pier Hotel for dinner. When we ordered, we were told that there was only one chef in the kitchen and there could be a delay for our food. We didn’t mind waiting, especially when we had this breathtaking view from our table…

I had a fairly typical lunch at Groper Garage located in the west end of town. I ordered the open chicken sandwich and the salt and pepper squid.

Just had a very nice pizza, and lovely fresh tarakihi. bread and dips to start. good service, pleasant staff. unfortunately one of our group of three had to wait for his meal as when asked where his meal was the staff said the printer had missed of the tarakihi when the order went to the chef. didn't have to wait long for it once mistake was realised and staff were apologetic. 6.2.13. Wednesday night so not overly busy, can imagine its a good place for younger people at the end of the week. menu good for all types.

What a fantastic New Year’s bash for 2012-13! The staff was working hard, and the band was absolutely amazing! I really loved that they performed some of their original songs. We’re hopeful that you’ll invite this band back again. I also appreciated the security team, who were quick to handle any troublemakers.
