Upon our arrival at 3:45 PM, everything was closed, and it was only after calling the hotel that the owner, the restaurant 's chef, came to open the door for us! We were disappointed by the meal, which was mediocre despite being advertised as chef 's cuisine ... the chef himself served us, dressed in jeans and sneakers, along with his two apprentice waitresses from Central Africa, who were nice but not up to the standard expected of this type of establishment. Nice wine list. In short, a disappointment.

Very dog-friendly, an... read more A great stop on our way back to the UK from the south. The room was spacious, well-equipped and comfortable (and the bed was super comfy). Very dog-friendly, and reasonable walks directly from the hotel. Although sadly the restaurant was closed the night we were there (Tuesday evening), the owner/chef prepared a 4-course table d'hôte menu for guests (after checking for dislikes/allergies) which was absolutely delicious. We would definitely stay again if we are travelling this way.
