Best Resturant!!. If you haven't been there you want to go the food is great, small time family ran place that's been there for years, which could only mean that they must be doing something right!!!!!!!! We go there at least once if not twice a week, their subs are amazing, very fresh. I always get the Uncle Charlie special and my hubby gets the Italian, both are great!!

Really liked the pizza good ingredients. I guess some people have had mediocre pizza experiences with Uncle Charlie's but my family LOVES it. Our standby is an extra cheese pizza with pepperoni on half. Sometimes we get their 2 large for $11 special and add toppings (paying a little extra) on one of the pizzas.<br/ <br/ We love the crust, which is pretty thin, tastes like fresh bread, and is crispy on the bottom. We love the sauce,which kind of has a mild taste, and is not too chunky. We LOVE the cheese, which reminds me of the cheese on Papa Johns pizza. It is not too stretchy, but more, almost fluffy. I don't know if they normally put inadequate amounts of cheese, because we normally order extra cheese. Cheap mozarella cheese from the grocery store stretches a lot and tastes sharp when put on pizza. This cheese is way better, fresh and mild tasting, and doesn't stretch off the pizza.<br/ <br/ We did like the large pizza better than the small. When we went with small pizzas the sauce to cheese ratio wasn't as good, large is better.<br/ <br/ Also tried their Uncle Charlie's special sub, great meat and bread, very high quality sub.<br/ <br/ Overall I would definitely recommend this westside classic. They've been there for years for a reason.

The best pizza in Jax, have been going there for 39 years. The subs and pasta dishes are great too.  This is the only pizza I eat.  The 2 large special is a great deal.

When I first came from Boston 26 yrs ago, the only pizza shops around were Domino 's and Pizza Hut then there was this pizza buffet.  In my opinion they were nasty.  Then I was driving down Lane Ave. one day and saw this little hole in the wall 'Uncle Charlie 's '  there was one in Boston, so I tried it.  OMG I was home!  They use Piantedosi bread and dough for their subs and pizza, and  I grew up on that bread was at their factory almost daily for french bread, sub roll, and jr rolls. I brought their pizza home to my family and that was that the only pizza, hot subs and antipasto we ate came from Uncle Charlie 's.  Now I have nieces and nephews here in Jax that will only eat italian from there unless I cook it.  Love this place and the people who run it are the best.  I don 't even have to give my name when I call in the order they are like family.  If you don 't go there your missing a great experience.  Their pizza<br/  is the real thing not a frozen shell, not garbage!!!
