Jackson Drug
Jackson Drug
Description
On Jackson’s town square, an old‑school fountain‑style spot serves large ranch‑sourced burgers, creative shakes and memorable huckleberry ice cream amid a lively, retro atmosphere. Tater tots, pretzels and sweet potato fries are popular; indoor/outdoor seating makes it handy next to the small park. Guests praise clean, inventive desserts and local ingredients, but experiences vary—service can be hit‑or‑miss, some dishes arrive overcooked or greasy, and there are complaints about ice‑cream handling, slow takeout and an automatic 18% service charge.

My husband and I had a terrible experience at Jackson Drug. The service was awful, with the server showing a very bad attitude and barely attending to us. We were seated at a tiny table where two plates barely fit, and no one cleared our dishes when we finished. We had to place our plates on a nearby clean table ourselves to avoid the risk of them falling. The bison burger was dry and bland, and the hummus burger was both unappetizing in appearance and taste. The buffalo cauliflower consisted of tiny pieces deep-fried in an excessively thick batter, leaving us only tasting the batter. Overall, the food and service were disastrous. We will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone.
One of the best dining spots in Jackson! The burgers are fantastic, and the tater tots are incredible. The service is outstanding as well. I highly recommend it!
I wasn't impressed with Jackson Drug. The place felt a bit odd, as if they spent $15,000 on an interior designer but then abandoned it, leaving behind a lackluster restaurant. The buffalo cauliflower was disappointing and not even properly tossed in buffalo sauce. While sitting at the bar, we noticed boxes of ice cream for sundaes just left out in the open air. I understand it's easier to scoop when the ice cream isn’t frozen solid, but how long can you really leave it out? After watching numerous sundaes being made with the same Hershey's syrup you can buy at home, we decided to skip the rest of the menu and head somewhere else. There are definitely better dining options in Jackson, and your homemade ice cream sundae will taste just as good.
I'm not sure why there are negative reviews. The food was excellent, and our waiter was friendly and attentive. Our meals came out within 15-20 minutes. The ambiance was wonderful, and the restaurant seemed very clean. Although it is a bit on the pricey side, that's common for Jackson. I would definitely dine here again!
I went for lunch on a Sunday and started with the chili cheese fries as an appetizer. The portion was massive, and we ended up getting so full from them that we couldn't finish our main dishes, which were also served in large amounts. The service was outstanding! I ordered the club sandwich along with the special soup, which was chicken tortilla soup.
