Very nice. Although a little short staffed as is every business...Victoria, our waitress, was attentive and kind. The food and water was good.
It is a beautiful place. We went to a Bourbon event. The food was served family style. There was a lot of things to try. My favorite was the salad and the desserts especially the chocolate pot de cream.
Wonderful experience. Great food and wonderful service. We had a problem with the staff being overwhelmed and slow with the service but the restaurant more than amply made up for any inconvenience that we might have had. The buffet was very good and had a wide variety of meats, vegetables, seafood and dessert. I highly recommend that if you are in the Jackson, Miss. area that you reserve a spot for the Sunday Brunch.
1908 Provisions is a strong contender for my favorite restaurant in Jackson. The food is outstanding, the service is impeccable, and it offers a pleasant atmosphere without the overwhelming noise often found in many other restaurants today.
**Dining Experience at a Jackson Gem: A Mixed Bag** Nestled in the heart of Jackson, this restaurant offers a blend of delightful dishes and frustrating service. While many patrons rave about the local, flavorful ingredients and charming atmosphere, others report inattentive staff and long wait times. Signature items like oysters and desserts receive high praise, yet some entrees, including an overly spicy pasta, miss the mark. Despite service hiccups, the extensive buffet on Sundays shines with variety. While the ambiance is lauded, diners recommend reservations and patience for a worthwhile experience. Overall, the restaurant presents a blend of potential and pitfalls for prospective guests.

I was not impressed with the food or the service. We were a group of thirteen with a 7 PM reservation. We were seated promptly, and basically had the restaurant to ourselves. We had to ask for water — and had to keep asking, as no one was payingattention. It took a good half hour before the waiter took our entree orders. Our waiter disappeared so often, we joked thatperhaps he was also the chef... Entrees were served at 8:50 PM. My pasta with shrimp was inedible due to the heavy use of spice(and I like spicy food). Others in the group reported cold soup. I would not eat there again.
After a long day of driving, it was convenient to have a restaurant and bar located right in the hotel. The Library Lounge (which I will review separately) is adjacent to the restaurant and offers a selection of small plates. When we moved to the restaurant, we found ourselves the only patrons, and it remained that way throughout our meal. While it was a bit early for dinner service, it was still surprising. The decor is appealing, and the place is impeccably clean. We were taken aback by how long it took to receive our food, especially since we were the only diners. However, once it arrived, we found the food to be quite delicious.
I was disappointed with both the food and the service during my visit. Our group of thirteen had a 7 PM reservation and was seated quickly, almost having the entire restaurant to ourselves. However, we had to request water multiple times, as the staff seemed inattentive. It took about half an hour for our waiter to take our entree orders, and he vanished so frequently that we joked he might also be the chef. Our entrees finally arrived at 8:50 PM. My pasta with shrimp was inedible because of the overwhelming amount of spice, and I typically enjoy spicy food. Several others in the group received cold soup. Overall, I wouldn’t choose to dine there again.
I had a fantastic experience at the restaurant. The food was excellent, and the service was lovely. Although the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and the service was slow at times, the restaurant more than compensated for any inconveniences we encountered. The buffet offered a great selection of meats, vegetables, seafood, and desserts, all of which were delicious. I highly recommend making a reservation for the Sunday Brunch if you're in the Jackson, Mississippi area.
