My first impression of this place wasn’t great. I was there with a group of 12, and a waiter with a white patch of hair on his head approached the women in our group and was extremely rude about the to go coffee cups they had brought to the table. I completely understand that outside drinks may not be allowed, but his delivery was harsh and made everyone uncomfortable. Instead of politely explaining the policy, he insisted they throw them out or finish them off the property, even though the cups were nearly empty and our group ended up spending a lot of money. We truly almost left but decided to stay. On top of that, one of our orders arrived about 45 minutes late, and when it finally came, it was the wrong item. It felt like it was forgotten until we asked about it. I rarely leave one star reviews, but overall our group did not have a good experience this time. I ordered a venison burger, which I shared a photo of, and it was good. I’ll definitely give credit where it’s due, it was a good burger. However, first impressions matter, and the way our group was initially approached made us feel unwelcome.
The waiter was friendly, but the manager made the experience unpleasant. A few of us from our group of 10 walked in holding coffees while walking through town — very normal in Ischgl since it’s a small walkable village. We immediately sat and began ordering drinks for the table. The manager rudely told us we had to leave, finish the coffees outside, and then come back in if we wanted to stay. This was especially unreasonable because my fiancé had just torn her ACL on the mountain and was on crutches. We had stopped so she could sit and rest while the rest of our group met us, bringing her a hot chocolate and finishing their coffees. Despite being a group of 10 planning to stay and spend quite a bit, the interaction made us uncomfortable. We ordered one drink each and left. Additionally, the sandwich I ordered earlier arrived incorrect and took about an hour. Ursprung doesn’t seem ready for the volume of international travelers.
