My experience at Roy’s Grille started with good music when I first entered. Next the smell of the BBQ smoker reaches you and makes your stomach growl. The food is prepared by Chris Williams and he is the head chef owner. I ordered the “Bacon Cheeseburger and Sweet Potato Fries”. This restaurant comes highly recommended by food enthusiasts in Columbia as one of the best BBQ places around. I ordered a brisket sandwich and inquired if it was Texas-style, but the staff didn't seem to know. When I asked what kind of wood was used for smoking, the employee became defensive. I had heard a lot about this place, so I finally decided to check it out. I expected it to be good since it's a small spot at a gas station, and sure enough, there was a line—always a good sign! I must say, the fries I ordered were fantastic. The rest of my meal was good too, though I would definitely try something different next time. My only concern was the price; I found it a bit on the high side, but I don't mind paying for quality food. The sweet tea was excellent as well. Overall, I would recommend this place, especially if you're in the Lexington area!
Fantastic BBQ! While there are many great BBQ spots in the Midlands, Roy's truly deserves a place in your rotation of favorites.
Roys is definitely my go-to spot for satisfying my brisket cravings! They have so many outstanding options to choose from!
It was my first time at this restaurant , it was pretty nice and the guy who took our order had good customer service. We were greeted as soon as we came in. We ordered the ribs , Mac cheese , and potato salad . We also ordered Korean cheesesteak eggrolls . The ribs was really good , it was seasoned well. The mac and cheese was okay same for the potato salad . The food could’ve been hotter , it was room temperature . Other than that , it was pretty good it was a 7/10. I’ll definitely come back and try other menu items.
