This charming small chain restaurant, proudly rooted in Columbia, serves up delightful Southern cuisine that is both indulgent and satisfying. With options ranging from fried chicken and roasted okra to macaroni and cheese, fried pig's hock, fried squash, and cornbread, there's something to please every palate. The relaxed and casual decor makes it the perfect place to dine in or grab a picnic to go. For those seeking a delicious start to their morning, they also offer breakfast. Don't stress about counting calories—just savor the finger-licking good food!
I confronted the tall young woman about her disrespectful behavior towards my boyfriend, and he said he would speak to the manager, Brian, about the incident. Unfortunately, she reported our complaint to Jay, which resulted in Jay firing me without providing a proper explanation. He simply told me it was time to leave. Overall, my experience working here was terrible. Employees were favored based on their length of service, and the work environment felt very discriminatory. I do not recommend this place of employment.
I stopped by to pick up dinner for my son and found the line to be quite long, but the wait wasn't too bad. When we reached the window, Eddie welcomed us with a smile and a fantastic attitude. He even took a moment to give my 9-year-old a quick math quiz! The atmosphere was very family-friendly, and Eddie was patient and courteous throughout our visit. I'm really glad we decided to stop in.
This restaurant is a delightful place to enjoy delicious food. It has a simple yet extensive menu with plenty of options. With several locations, all of which are excellent, this spot stands out. One aspect we love is the ability to select four sides as a meal, which is ideal for vegetarians. The staff is also exceptionally friendly!
The staff at this location doesn't appear to be very welcoming to people of color, which is disappointing considering the community it serves. Now, regarding the food: I ordered two breakfast meals for pickup, and unfortunately, everything was dry and overcooked. Both the pork and chicken sausages were tough, the pancakes were not only dry but also chewy, and both the scrambled and over-easy eggs were overcooked (cooking over-easy eggs shouldn't be that difficult!). The only items that were decent were the English muffin and hash browns. For various reasons, I can't recommend dining at this location. It's definitely worth your time to go to the one on Broad River instead; they consistently provide much better quality.
