The restaurant offers a variety of delicious and tasty food. Their salads are crispy and varied, and the lamb and chicken dishes are fantastic and tender. The Moussaka is amazing. They were very accommodating for a family member with a dairy allergy, with homemade hummus packed separately to avoid any soggy dishes. The service was friendly and fast. We will definitely visit again next time we are near Ipswich. Thank... View all feedback.
What Chickpeamad doesn't like about Ararat Turkish:
We placed a takeaway order at 7:35pm and received our food at 9:30pm, which was completely unacceptable. When we called the restaurant, they blamed the delay on football traffic, even though the game had ended 4.5 hours earlier. At 9pm, they admitted that our food had only just left the restaurant 5 minutes before. The restaurant is only 1.5 miles away from our house. We were very disappointed with the poor service a... This has always been my favourite Turkish restaurant in Ipswich but it appears to have changed hands as on the last visit there were different staff and they would not serve alcohol. They also refused us tap water. The food was fine but I won't be going back.
Could have gone so much better! I ordered one of the BBQ plates but as I don’t eat lamb and can’t even stand the flavour, I’d ask to take it of my plate, the lady said no problem and that they’d instead give chicken xishe on its place… when my plate arrives all looked delicious as the starters were delicious too. But when I tried the meat it all tasted like lamb and I’d know this because I can’t take its flavour). I told the lady serving our table and didn’t even request to replace anything but she comes back saying that the chef says it’s impossible that the meat tasted like lamb rude). Sure not taking the risk at that restaurant again.. not to mention that the table servant kept taking star out of the table when we had not even finished with the starters or anything yet..
Great food, fresh and delicious ingredients, good atmosphere and friendly service at a reasonable price. What more do you want?
We had a great experience at the Turkish restaurant with delicious food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We have visited multiple times and have noticed that it has improved significantly. The average cost per person is very reasonable, ranging from £22.00 to £28.00. The main courses come with fresh Turkish bread, rice, and tasty salads, making the overall value excellent. A main course typically costs £14 to £18, but with all the extras included, it is definitely worth it. Highly recommended!
