I love Hart House, and it's usually my go-to restaurant. Unfortunately, last night was a letdown. Two of our meals were terrible. I ordered the eggplant and had to send it back because it was cold. When I asked the waitress to warm it up, she brought me back another cold eggplant. We also ordered schnitzel, and it was undercooked and cold as well. Great food, I had the steak tips. Cool atmosphere in an old house. We sat in the pretty chairs you see in the study of a rich person at the table at the fireplace. Friendly, attentive and friendly staff. Be ready to spend some money, but if you can afford it, you will enjoy it.
This is a gem of a place in Ipswich with an extensive menu for dining and a large selection of wines. You can make reservations for for a lovely 3 course meal or grab a quick bite like a burger in the Tavern with no reservations. The food was outstanding roasted rack of lamb, salmon and shrimp special, crusted tuna, grilled sea bass it all tasted delicious. The portions were very generous, and cooked to perfection. The service couldn't be better, all the staff were very friendly and did not try to rush us through dinner. We had a very relaxed meal, sitting in plush, deep leather chairs that were extremely comfortable. The ambiance was very cozy as you can see from the photos. It was a perfect evening at an exquisite inn.
Hart house was unbelievable! The best food I had in a long time. We had a party of 16 for my graduation and everyone’s meal was perfect and delicious, the chef blew us away. The waitresses were awesome! Thank you so much Hart house for accommodating our big family !
We enjoyed this a rustic dark wood and historical restaurant. Friendly service and delicious comforting food. Fabulous old fashioned cocktail! I will be going back!
Never a bad meal here in 20 years. Very affordable for what you get and the quality. Good service and nice and cozy old new England style charm.
