Known the hotel for fifty years. Very different from 1967 but as friendly and welcoming. I have stayed each year for some while now. The rooms are clean and very comfortable; recently updated in bathrooms. Food is excellent, whether breakfast, lunch, dinner or a snack. Staff always pleasant and helpful. Children welcome
We had an overnight stay at the Traquair arms hotel this week, with quite a few members of family. On arrival we were greeted by a lovely friendly guy who got us checked in easily. He even let me borrow his umbrella to save me from the snow. We all had tea in the dining area in the evening, the food was lovely, all freshly made. Another member of staff served us in the dining/bar area and again, nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately my son started with a sickness bug in the night, which is bad enough when you’re at home but even worse when you’re stuck in a hotel! I mentioned it to the fella on check out and told him I’d had to wash some bedding but had left it in the bath, he made us feel at ease about the situation and said not to worry, before wishing my son well. We’re hoping to be over to visit family there again soon, and will hopefully be stopping at the Traquair again.
