Enjoyed our experience here. Nice ambiance and good service! Good pacing on the timing of the dishes. The wings and mushroom étouffée were the highlights for us. Seasoned perfectly with well balanced heat.I’d love to see a bit more creativity from their cocktail and dessert menus. In all really enjoyed our experience and will be back. View all feedback.
What Howard doesn't like about Beholder:
The atmosphere in the restaurant was quite noisy, largely due to two young children causing a commotion. While the oysters were decent, there were no crackers served with them. The Club Salad lacked flavor, and although the fish was good, it was served lukewarm. My Wagyu steak was overly chewy and also cold. Overall, the evening was disappointing, with poor food, an unpleasant atmosphere, and mediocre service. It was... View all feedback.
This place is inspired, the food is amazing and the atmosphere is fun. Great wine list. The mushrooms are next level. The wild boar pate is mouth watering. What a great restaurant.
I love this place, the overall atmosphere is awesome and the staff is attentive without being overbearing, I decided to visit again during devour Indy which is one of my favorite times of year. I made a reservation on Resy drove over and was seated promptly. They share their normal menu and their devour menu which is a nice touch. I started with six blue alpine oysters with gin and long pepper mignonette; they were fresh a delicious; I then got into the devour menu, started with the blue shrimp chowder, which was flavorful and had tasty toppings. Then I had the arctic whale cod in a delicious dressing or sauce (depending on the region you are from), but it was incredibly awesome. As for dessert, I had the perfect spiced orange sorbet, with pine nuts. Also, what's dinner without drinks? I had my new favorite cocktail, the Yuzo 75, which had gin, prosecco, and a hint of lemon. I loved it, and with my main course, I had a sav blanc. All around a great experience! I love this place and the production and can't wait to visit again! Ps all servers are wearing masks, and the restaurant follows covid guidelines
By far the best restaurant in Indianapolis. Privately owned restaurant with amazing creative kitchen with changing menu all the time.Sitting at the chefs counter is my favorite. The kitchen crew as well as the service is amazing and fun. Wine list is not huge but very nice wines.Love to be there!Pictures are from several visits from the last months.
All the food and cocktails were incredible here. Very well made and lots of flavor. I dont regret trying for a special occassion, but it was probably a one and done for me personally due to cost/portion sizes. That is the only reason I did 1 less star (which I hesistated to do . For example, the ribeye didn't even come with a vegetable or proper side in my opinion for being 65 dollars. It came with more meat, which was delicious but odd. I ordered the iberico pork, and it was delicious, but again, it comes down to portions size for cost. The fried olive appetizer was an absolute star, though!! Eat beforehand and come for a special occasion, but maybe not a regularly visited location :
