First, you'll feel like you're back in an early 90s style dark, dingy, outdated Italian place. Dean Martin's drunk ghost may very well be sitting at the bar. This restaurant has been the same for over a decade and that is a very, very good thing. Service is rock solid, food is classic Italian (enormous menu), great portions, and great prices. Spiedinis are world class (Pereira and D'Angelo are highlights), and if you... View all feedback.
What Warren Edwards doesn't like about Salvatore's Italian:
Never had a decent meal here. I've been disappointed both times. I and understand an off night, but this was two bad experiences that were a year apart. The service is fine. The food is awful, boarding on disgusting. Salvatore's makes Olive Garden look like a Michelin star Italian restaurant. The calamari is breaded thicker than a chicken-fried steak, and over cooked until it is like eating mini rubber tires. The red... View all feedback.
Upon entering, you might feel transported back to an Italian restaurant from the early '90s, complete with a dark, worn-in atmosphere. It’s not hard to imagine Dean Martin’s ghost nursing a drink at the bar. This place has maintained its charm for over a decade, and that’s a very welcome consistency. The service is exceptional, the food is classic Italian with an extensive menu, generous portions, and reasonable prices. The spiedini here are outstanding, with the Pereira and D'Angelo being particular highlights. If you have a chance to visit on Salsicca special night, don’t miss out. For families, the kids' menu offers a variety of genuine options that cater well to younger diners.
Every bite was absolutely delightful. I’ll definitely be back soon! **Service:** Takeout **Meal Type:** Dinner **Price per Person:** $30–50 **Food:** 5/5 **Service:** 5/5 **Atmosphere:** 5/5
Samantha Chicken Spedini is simply the best! The staff is incredibly friendly, making for a wonderful dining experience. I had dinner there, and the price per person was quite reasonable, ranging from $10 to $20. The food was outstanding, earning a perfect score of 5, as was the service and atmosphere, both of which also received a 5. I highly recommend trying the Chicken Spedini Samantha, the Tour of Italy, and the Samantha dish.
Haven't been here in 15 years and was excited to take my mother for her 85th birthday celebration. What a disappointment. The owners should be embarrassed. This is not good Italian food at all. I'm not even sure these folks know what Italian food is....the sugo sauce was horrible and way too sweet. The Veal Marsala was served with no pasta on the plate, but with a side of penne in that nasty Sugo sauce that was not edible. The Marsala sauce was more of a bland gravy than a sauce....even the ceasar salad had no flavor...and that is difficult to accomplish. I lived in Italy for many years, this is not good Italian, barely even Italian food... These folks should go visit Italy to understand how food is made and served properly in Italian restaurants. This is the absolute worst Italian food in the mid-west. Fazolli's is far better and much cheaper. I now understand completely why the Garozzo name is no longer on the building....this place is a joke, the positive reviews must be fake.... Truly an embarrassment to Italian restaurants the world over.... Does not deserve a single star, but that is not an option....
