This hotel was very quiet and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast could have been improved as no fruit, yogurt, or oatmeal available. Bread choices were skim with no bagels or English muffins offered. A few minor changes and this would rate one more star. View all feedback.
What Justin Hauck doesn't like about Comfort Suites Independence Kansas City:
Took cold showers for two days. Notified manager, and nothing was done. Pool was outta order, shower had no pressure so we Notified front desk again and was told a repair would happen in the morning. After a three day stay, the only good experience was check out. They didn't forget to charge for anything. View all feedback.
Great rooms at a good price. Clean and spacious. Location is a little bit back from the freeway surrounded by lots of trees.
Pros: the bed was comfortable.Cons: Pet hair on furniture.Bathroom smelled like smoke. The area lost power during our stay, some guests had zero power and had to leave, we had lights but no AC in the middle of July, 90 degree days, but the hotel said they would not be refunding anyone, any amount. ?Also, they never cleaned our room, not collecting trash or refreshing our towel supply. When we asked if we could get that service they said we would have to carry down our trash used towels every day and collect clean ones at the front desk. I’ve never had that experience in any hotel. Pool was closed and clearly had so much bleach in it it looked like clear glue.It was really disappointing that they were unwilling to reimburse the many guests that had to leave or spend the day and night without AC or ability to charge their phones. Quite sure they will lose a lot of business in the future on account of that.
Being honest here, as I always am. I have the app and saw availability here for 3 rooms. I called and the lady had an attitude. When I stated that I saw there were rooms available and if I could book one, she stated “most certainly can not” and hung up. So I had my wife call again 10 minutes later, and she was a lot more friendly and pleasant with my wife. As a Comfort member, I stay at a lot of locations. This location wasn’t terrible, it was right off of i-70 which was convenient with a Wendy’s and Dutch Bros nearby which was nice. Located about 20 miles east of Kansas City, in Independence, MO. They had free breakfast, a pool and fitness center. The breakfast worker was extremely nice. The ice machine was broken and the bathroom was decent. The room itself had a very old feel, with a strange smell but the beds were clean enough (we needed to sleep here). If I were to come back to Kansas City, I’d be ok staying here again, but it’d be one of my last options, as the other places I’ve stayed were better.
Hotel was decent. No bed bugs or roaches. So that was good. The common areas were a little suspect. (Hallways, lobby, ice machine area). The breakfast has no bacon, bread, or pastries. The employee that worked the area keeps it stocked and clean, though. Costs were decent. Would stay again in the future if needed.
