Hook Reel Cajun Seafood - Hyattsville

I have tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but I will not be returning. We were seated promptly upon arrival, but we never received service until we were already finished eating and ready to leave after waiting for 15 minutes. The restaurant was almost empty and all the other tables were being attended to, including those before and behind us. Joy, who eventually served us, was excellent, but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Why did we have to wait so long to be served? I will be choosing to visit Greenbelt or Glenarden before considering coming back here.

Hello. Britney, who works here and answers the phone, was extremely rude and had poor customer service skills. It seemed as if she hated life. It's very disappointing, especially since this is a charming little spot with good food at a reasonable price. I was hoping to bring a large group from out of town for the first time, but her behavior was a major turn-off. She even claimed she didn't know the name of the manager when I spoke to her. This was very disappointing.

Service was good. platz wasn't full. eating was hot, fast and delicious served.

I was craving a boil but without all the gimmicks of the crab, mussels etc. i happen to fall upon Hook&Reel East West Highway location by chance and decided to go on in. I ordered to go: eggs, corn on the cob, sausage and potato in the mild garlic butter sauce. The food was good for the exception that the corn was not fresh, I couldn’t taste any spiciness in the sauce although it was supposed to be mild and there was barely any sauce in my bag. Overall its a nice vibe and I wouldn’t mind going back to eat in instead of taking out.
