Walking ro... read more Stayed this weekend for Friday and Saturday night as we took part in Born Survivor at Lowther Castle. Absolutely beautiful place both inside and out. Walking round the grounds was lovely. Feeding the ducks, etc. We stayed in an Ullswater Suite in the actual hotel which was lovely. Everything was clean and tidy and all bases covered. The bar upstairs was reasonable. The singer last night was brilliant. The staff were all fab and helpful and approachable. Couple of things that were disappointing: The signage on the way in we got lost and ended up on the way to Penrith! There is a little track which our satnav sent us up! Must’ve been used prior to the actual entrance. Further along the entrance opposite the pub, there’s only signage on one side so we completely missed it driving passed and only saw it when we turned back round. Our bed was so uncomfortable we had the worst two nights of sleep ever. My other half is 6’2 and 18 stone. It was a double with absolutely no support and was a little snug to say the least! I’d at least invest in some king size beds and replace your mattresses! No floor mat for the bathroom except a rubber type mat. Really need to rethink as could’ve ended badly in a fully tiled bathroom! Had to use a hand towel. Some women have long hair and sometimes need an extra towel! Your checkout time is too early. Especially since check in is 4pm and breakfast doesn’t start until 8.30am. Could do with another hour. All in all a great place and would definitely recommend.

The room we stayed in within the hotel was amazing and the view was beautiful. All the staff from the hotel was very welcoming and the staff at the Eden bar was lovely and the service was great. The food is to die for so fresh and cooked so well. We will definitely be back. Thank you for having us.
