We had a fabulous meal here. We'd had a long day hiking and called to check availability we were unable to give them an exact time of arrival but they were so helpful and accommodating on the phone. What Steven Waite doesn't like about Troutbeck Inn:
Handy location and the place is clean and welcoming. We were served by a lady who had a slightly too pushy manner and we felt 'on the clock '. The curry was fine but the rest was just meh. Oven chips for pete 's sake, an absolute no-no if you intend serving good food. £16-20 for a main if it is fresh but reheated steak pie with oven chips no. Can't comment on the rooms. Came here for food and had an excellent burger. Atmosphere is cosy and the service was good. I'd definitely come back. Very enjoyable.
