Contribute Feedback What Chilli Feli likes about Lamb & Cumin:
Authentic lamb skewers cooked over charcoal with the signature cumin and chilli spice mix... I grew up eating this from street stalls run by Uighurs. The flavour is quite authentic and 5 for $8 is good value. Satisfying snack when I get the craving! View all feedback.
What Juvenal Wehner doesn't like about Lamb & Cumin:
Good skewersGood lamb skewers sprinkle with cumin. If you need a cumin lamb fix this is the place. Situated in Hurstville station of the right hand side of Coles. View all feedback.
First time tasted Lamb & Cumin, the taste and smell is so smokey along with the strong smell of cumin. The flavours of both lamb and chicken skewers are not that bad.
$10.70 for 5 Prime Wagyu Beef skewers is good value in my book. Straight off the barbie the meats so tender and drenched in chilli sauce. Amazing street snack stand in the middle of the walkway to the station. love it!!!
My solitary experience of this outlet certainly won't have me 'cumin' back for more. The Lamb skewers that I purchased were burnt. Not singed or charred, burnt. To add insult to injury the pieces of lamb were about 80% fat. Legitimately so little actual meat was consumed on the visit that I wept on the inside. The reason this receives a 1.5 (and not a one) is because the masks used by worker's and the open plan of the tiny little outlet are endearing.
Located inside the station concourse, this little stall used to be mighty popular. With their Chinese street stall inspired lamb skewers, giblets, tendons and hearts, it certainly brings back a lot of early childhood memories. Unfortunately, my most recent visit left a lot to be desired. Skewers are no longer ordered individually, with minimum orders of 3-5 sticks per item required per order. To our disappointment, it meant we could only order 2 items (lamb and tendon) off the menu as we had just eaten a hearty lunch elsewhere. There was little to no wait time on the food as business was slow on this occasion. Each skewer is cooked to order and seasoned with chilli powder accordingly. We also opted for the chilled herbal tea for an extra $1 which was a godsend when the first chilli punch hit. Sadly the lamb was grizzly, fatty and together with our poor choice of tendon; which has the same texture as fat, made for a rather sickening match. I have had these skewers on a previous occasion and was rather impressed. Perhaps it was an off day? Regardless, I am not quite confident enough to revisit anytime soon.
