What Dinah B likes about The At Houghton Hall:
Lovely setting in the original kitchen of the Hall (there is also a courtyard but not warm enough to eat outside when we visited). We had an excellent meal with charming service. Well worth combining with a visit to the Hall. It's within the grounds so you have to pay to get into the estate anyway but it's very interesting to visit the house and estate. There is also a Tea Room, but the Old Kitchen restaurant is a di... View all feedback. What taniao552 doesn't like about The At Houghton Hall:
I visited this restaurant for the first time two years ago and loved it, especially the low prices in the tea shop. Unfortunately, I missed visiting last year. When I returned on Thursday, I was horrified by the price hike, especially for the cafetiere that only goes down two-thirds of the way because it is deeper on the outside - what a scam! read moreNestled within the picturesque grounds of Houghton Hall, the Old Kitchen Restaurant offers a charming yet inconsistent dining experience. While the setting is lovely and the food has received praise, service issues and hygiene concerns have marred visits. Guests have noted sticky tables, unresponsive staff, and a lack of organized menu displays. Despite these drawbacks, many appreciate the quality of the meals and the delightful atmosphere. For those willing to overlook service lapses, the restaurant remains a pleasant stop, especially following a tour of the historic estate. Visitors seek a balance between location charm and consistent service.
