The Huckleberry Patch - Hungry Horse

If you're visiting Montana, you can't miss trying huckleberries, and this establishment is the perfect spot for that. They have an entire store and restaurant devoted to these delicious berries, offering a wide range of products including jellies, jams, jerky, candies, milkshakes, and more. We all sampled the milkshakes, which were rich in flavor and quite sweet. On my first visit a few years back, the pie was outstanding, but this time it tasted a bit more artificial. Nonetheless, it's still definitely worth a try. I highly recommend stopping by!

On a positive note, we did try the huckleberry licorice, which was enjoyable, but the huckleberry taffy was stale and unappetizing, sticking to the wrapper. Unfortunately, the owner did not respond to our feedback, which was disappointing. Huckleberry pie is celebrated as the best pie in the world, but this version certainly does not live up to that claim.

The huckleberry pie was absolutely delicious and seemed to have a homemade crust. The ice cream was perfectly sweet and creamy—a must-have addition that complemented the pie beautifully. My only complaint is that the pie was served cold, which was a bit disappointing. There’s nothing quite like warm pie with ice cream, and this was a minor letdown. Next door, the gift shop had some fantastic souvenirs, and it was enjoyable to browse around. However, I found that the staff at both the store and the restaurant weren't particularly friendly. That said, I don't let that affect my rating, as it’s often not the business’s fault and everyone can have a bad day. Overall, if you're passing by, I would definitely recommend stopping in for a slice of pie!

Hands down BEST huckleberry milkshake, pie and ice cream we've EVER had!

This is the perfect place for all your needs. They offer the best milkshakes around, and their burgers are excellent as well. If you’re visiting, it’s also a great spot for souvenirs, T-shirts, and plenty of other unique items to take home. If you're heading to the park, it's a convenient stop with plenty of parking and easy access. Give it a try—you won't be disappointed!
