Called in a combination #1 for pickup. Shrimp chicken balls with stir fried rice vegies with a side of sweet sauce. They pack it up to go in about 4 min . Always consistent and enough food for two. Cost was $13.50 after tax View all feedback.
What Allen L doesn't like about Wong's Restaurant:
We ordered a fairly substantial quantity of takeout recently, while the portion sizes were large the quality was so-so. The ginger beef was heavy on the sauce and with some grisly pieces of meat, the lemon chicken was the strangest and most heavily battered (and overcooked) version of this dish I have ever eaten, and the wonton soup had the same flavor and consistency as the mixed vegetables. A solid option for grilled favorites in an upscale setting, spacious dining room, with solid service, and reasonable prices.
While the waitstaff were friendly and courteous, I found the meal lacking in quantity.
Weber Grill is a go to for us when we want a good steak at a reasonable price.
Second time we have tried takeout from here and both times the food went in the garbage.....horrible!! The so called "ginger beef", was tasteless and full of fat and gristle. The special chow mien was salty and tasteless and the wings had tooooo much batter on them.....very poor food. Next time we will drive into Saskatoon for Chinese food.
While visiting Humboldt for New Year's Eve, we tried Wong's. I was really disappointed. I was expecting a hidden small town gem Chinese food restaurant, but what I got was flavourless, not fresh or hot, and poorly done. I had the buffet, and for a NYE buffet there was not a lot of selection. The two beef dishes had no flavour, no ginger or onion or any distinguishable Asian seasoning. They tasted like beef overcooked with some oxo, and several pieces I actually had to spit out because they were too tough to chew and swallow. Wonton Soup was flavourless and the wontons were shredded. Noodles and rice were lukewarm and mediocre at best. There was gravy on the buffet that had a big old coagulated skin on it - that had me wondering if it was being kept at a safe temp. Didn't taste any seasoning or flavour except salt. Dessert was pudding - the powdered mix kind! And did I see the cook come back from the bathroom with his apron still on? The egg rolls, however, were fantastic, and the staff was friendly and fast. For the price it was okay, but I won't go back. Next time we're in Humboldt we'll try the Vietnamese restaurant down the street.
