Moderno Tacos Tex Mex - Houston

All I can say is I ordered Mijas and they weren’t what I ordered! They didn’t have the tortillas strips or extra chorizo plus very watery. I didn’t have a very good experience experience for my 1st time at this establishment. The staff is very friendly but the food is a total waste of money 16 dollars for a breakfast plate and coffee!

I am writing this at the restaurant because it couldn’t wait. Amazing staff and quick, great service. However let’s take a step back.The reason for this review is the Tacos Nortenos. These tacos are out of this world. Fajita meat of your choice with their “refried bean salsa.” I don’t know what’s in this but I would pay triple for it again. Thanks Moderno.

Absolutely awesome Tex-Mex. Across the board everything it should be and everything you would expect. Terlingua enchiladas, brisket tacos, too much to list. I could order almost everything on the menu. And just maybe the best tortilla soup in the State of Texas.

Had a party at 4 or 5 where the restaurant was reserved. We came in at 1:30 and was told we couldn’t be serviced because of it. As we were leaving someone came after us and was seated. We asked if we could get a quick drink. Lady annoyingly rolled her eyes and said okay. I ordered my drink she left to make it without letting my husband order. Came back he ordered. We ordered appetizer and then we were forgotten. No offer for another drink, no waters, she was behind us counting tips and receipts. We got someone who’s prepping Togo condiments to get us waters and bring our check. We were there 30 minutes because we had to leave at 2pm. I tipped 15% instead of 20% because of lack if service and checked my bank account, an additional tip was added on top of what I left.

So I come here a lot and I have recommended this place to a lot of people! But today’s service is was horrible!! Today was my first time taking my fiancé and the food was outstanding as always but Jennifer ruined our meal with her disgusting attitude.. my son felt really uncomfortable telling her what he wanted because of the negative vibe she was giving.. as far as the other 2 ladies they were polite and professional with smiles and manners but I really didn’t appreciate the way she looked us or took our order. My fiancé was pleased with the food and we will return I will refuse to tip someone with a nasty attitude..
