Korea Garden - Houston

I went with my wife for her birthday, the place is romantic and cozy, we ordered the kimchi pancake and bulgogi. We felt we were in Korea. If you have a low profile car enter by Oak Tree Dr.Food: 5/5

The ambience was nice and clean and the servers were really friendly and attentive. Most importantly, all the dishes we ordered were really good! It’s a solid 5 star restaurants!Seafood Pancake 4.5/5 Crispy and tasty. Would be perfect with more chives and shrimps.Beef bibimbap 3.5/5 It’s oily but not bad!Korean spicy chicken 5/5 Tasty ?All the side dishes were good, I enjoyed the spinach, kimchi and seaweed the most.The hot barley tea was really good and hot.

This was my first time having Korean BBQ and i must say i was pleasantly surprised. I wasn’t sure what to expect, and found this busy little spot to be cozy, welcoming, and family oriented. We had made a reservation so I can’t attest to a wait time, but would imagine it would be wise to call ahead based on what I saw. The staff was amazing and the food was excellent. Expect to spend at least $60 pp if your drinking alcohol ?.. If your looking for a fun change, bring your friends and make a night of it. It won’t disappoint.

Went here for dinner tonight. I should preface this review with the fact that our family moved to Houston about a year ago after having lived in Los Angeles for a long time. Overall, as can be expected, the Korean food scene in Houston doesn 't compare to the Koreatown in LA (I 'd venture to guess not many other cities can match LA in this regard). My rating for this restaurant is in comparison to other Korean restaurants I have tried in Houston, not compared to anything in LA (in LA, I would have given this restaurant 2 stars).3 stars is the perfect rating. Everything was okay. Nothing great, nothing bad. The decor is a bit dated but not uncommon for older Korean bbq restaurants.We had:Chadol Baek Yi (non marinated brisket): 3/5 Meat was not a tender as it could have been and a bit bland.Sam Gyup Sal (non marinated pork belly): 4/5 The best meat of the night. The flavor of the meat was very good, just needed a bit of salt to season.Galbi (marinated boneless short rib): 3/5 This is the most traditional Korean bbq meat. Although the description said boneless, we were expecting the more traditional big cut of the short rib one would find at ala carte Korean BBQ places. This one was the short rib already cut into small slices. In other Korean restaurants (or Korean markets for this matter), the smaller cut slices are considered an inferior (i.e. cheaper) cut. Flavor was pretty traditional but a bit sweet for my taste.Steamed Egg: 3/5 Pretty good and standard, but again needed a bit of salt. For $10, this is quite expensive vs. what we 're used to seeing at other places.Go Chu Jahng Tofu Jji Gae (Red chili paste stew with tofu, beef and vegetable: 4/5 This stew was very good, but warning, it is on the spicy side, even coming from someone who enjoys spicy food.The banchan (side dishes) were pretty standard and I would rate 3/5.The service was good.We 've now been to many Korean restaurants in Houston. So far, our highest recommendation would be Bori, which has a great decor and much better food (but also quite a bit more expensive than this restaurant). In the same price range, we prefer BBQ Garden, which has better food, an actual charcoal grill, but the interior is a bit inferior to Korea Garden.
