what a sound! I was looking for somewhere where my mother and I could eat and found the black jug to be excellent. warm inside, we sat next to the log fire and a nice herr took his time to explain what. Suitable for me on the menu (I have allergies), I didn't feel rushed or awkward and eating was fantastic. the little dessert with a hot option was delicious and I will come back as if I am not local, it is worth the t... we visited there shortly before christmas, looks as if there were no social distancing what ever, so we sat in the icey cold garden area, it was packed and not much room to eat from the way of people, it looked like. a crushed affair, I was quite shocked. really disturbing in this time we are in and went early when I was cold. read moreThe Black Jug offers a variety of experiences, ranging from disappointing meals to fantastic service. Some guests have found the food hit-and-miss, with praises for starters and roast dinners but criticism for overcooked pastries. The pub has been commended for its welcoming atmosphere, friendly service, and accommodating staff, with special mention of allowing dogs in the bar area. The location near the Arts Centre and quick service have also been highlighted. Overall, while there are pleasant aspects to the establishment, there is room for improvement in consistency and quality of dishes.
