Yakitori Glad Hawaii - Honolulu

This restaurant is my favorite spot! The dining experience is fantastic with welcoming staff. We visited on a Wednesday night. The owner and server were courteous and kind. We ordered 7 small plates and Asahi beer- everything was delicious! The atmosphere is truly wonderful.

The yakitori at this restaurant is affordable and tasty, but the service was lacking. It seemed like they may have been short-staffed or not properly trained. However, overall the experience was neither exceptional nor terrible. Surprisingly, I found the salad to be more enjoyable than the yakitori dishes.

I love the atmosphere of this restaurant! It reminds me of an izakaya from a Japanese drama. The staff is friendly and I can sense the great teamwork. I also enjoyed the fusion dish with Korean soup base and pho. It was exactly what I was craving. Highly recommend!

The skewers of yakitori we ordered were incredibly dry, both the chicken breast and chicken thighs.

I called ahead to check for a wait time and informed them we would arrive in 20 minutes. Upon arrival, we were seated in the back of the restaurant immediately. Unfortunately, no one came to assist us or take our drink orders. After waiting for 30 minutes, we noticed that other tables in the back were also left unattended. The presence of cockroaches coming out of the walls made my wife uncomfortable, so we decided to leave. While waiting for our Uber outside, we observed that the other tables in the back also left. It was surprising to see four different groups all leave at once. Perhaps it was just an off night. Additionally, we noticed that the prices listed online were slightly lower than what we were charged, which we understand could be due to inflation. Despite wanting to try the food at this restaurant that reminded me of Tokyo, we were unable to stay due to the bug issue. If I do decide to return, my wife insists I go alone because of this problem.
