Sushiman - Honolulu
Sushiman
Description
A neighborhood sushi spot known for affordable takeout, steady pickup service and popular party platters, with several loyal regulars praising its flavors. Free parking and an ADA path make quick visits easy, but the dining room feels worn and nearby street activity discourages lingering. Inconsistent order accuracy, slow delivery substitutions and spotty customer service sometimes mar the experience — double-check orders. Good value for takeout lovers, though quality and service can be uneven.

My husband often brings me here, and while I absolutely love the food and the service, my only complaint is the price. However, it's difficult to find sushi of this quality anywhere else that doesn't charge at least one and a half times as much or more.
Amazing sushi, great staff, and comfortable atmosphere. Menu selections are perfect D the packaging of takeout is just right!
It was a really bad bad experience. The order take spoke so softly behind her mask I couldn't understand her and had to ask her to repeat everything 2 to 3 times. It wasn't that big of an order and took almost 1 hour, FOR BASIC sushi ika, natto, spicy ahi. I paid for a bag but she tried to pass me 2 tray containers some chopsticks NOT in a bag. I finally made I contact and told her I paid for a bag. Order had NO ginger, 2 small packets of shoyu, plus order was WRONG. I asked for 2 orders of ika 1 order of natto and got 2 orders of natto and 1 order of ika.Good grief!!! The quality and taste was not good for the expensive price. Natto was cheap kind from a tube, spicy ahi was more like tuna mush, yucky. Ika was pretty good. For the price of over $30 you are better off going to Genki, just saying. Very disappointed and won't go back.
This sushi restaurant is the most lackadaisical place to dine. The quality of the fish is mediocre at best, not exceptional, but good enough to enjoy. I have ordered the same chicken and beef bento through Uber Eats four times, and each time I requested to remove the shrimp due to my allergy, they canceled my order. It is incredibly frustrating to deal with, as I am not informed that they cannot accommodate my request, and instead, I receive a delivery of two pieces of nigiri with no bento. This is unacceptable. I attempted to call the owner to express my dissatisfaction with their unprofessional handling of my orders, but was informed that they are never available. I have frequented the restaurant in person and requested the same order - a chicken and beef bento without shrimp - without any issue. It seems that when ordering through Uber, they struggle to handle substitutions, leading loyal customers to seek alternatives. If anyone is looking for recommendations, I suggest Aloha Sushi Genki or any other sushi restaurant in town that is up to date and able to handle substitutions without excuses or hassle.
