I love trying new places to eat. This place was great. It definitely deserves 5 stars; here?s why it only got 4. The Samoa were amazing such great taste and flavor the dipping sauce was mind blowing and it was frozen in the middle! I?m not posting to be ajerk. I could have provided feedback to the staff at the time but chose not to because they were getting busy. It would set thetone that were were ?those customers?. The Garlic Noodles with shrimp was also soooooo tasty, and it too was cold. My dish cameout first and the top of the food was hot the lower layers closer to the plate was not, yet the plate was hot. The GarlicNoodles should be don?t with anything but shrimp; it reminded me of a shrimp Pad Thai. The crispy bits of garlic really elevatedthe food textures of the soft noodles and crust fresh cucumbers. It was really impressed the flavors and the atmosphere. Thewait staff was friendly yet did not introduce themselves. I?d go again! The photos are the Samosas and the Garlic Noodles.
After eating at their sister store Dagon we couldn't wait to try Rangoon. This location in Chinatown is larger and had a great atmosphere. We made reservations for 8 and it was still quite busy so it was a good move. Our table was ready on time and wewere seated right away. Service was a little slow to start but once the ball was rolling everyone pitched in and we were welltaken care of. We all got everything from salads to curry and more. The mango salad was very tasty and highly recommend. Thecurry was good but a little lacking in flavor for me, but the lamb was well cook and super tender. The one thing I ordered andreally didn't like was the fried rice with veggies, my thought was the veggies would be chopped up small like a normal friedrice but actually everything was in big pieces and not very good. This is obviously my personal taste but I didn't like a warmsalad with rice in it. Overall everything was real good and I'd definitely return to try some more. Second trip to Rangoonwasn't as good as the first, service was a bit off. They were totally consumed with filling to go orders and put our dine foodafter. All meals were brought out at different times and mine was last and 30 mins after first. They can definitely do better.
We tried their appetizer coconut curry platha?. they tasted horrible : platha has was so oily? ???? We tried their ???? Salomon fish curry? fish was bland and curry was so full of oil?.. worse Burmese food we ever had : We couldn?t eat the food so left itlike that?
The food is unreal. Honestly one of the best places I've been to on Oahu!???????? The flavor is explosive, exotic and savory. We had Coconut rice, Crispy Tofu, Palatha (bread) and two of the curries with Lamb and Chicken. My buddies said that wasoutstanding too. I'm vegetarian so didn't try those. Cannot wait to come back. Ty??????????
I really enjoy exploring new dining spots, and this one was fantastic! It definitely deserves a 5-star rating, but here’s why I gave it 4 instead. The samosas were incredible; they had such great taste and flavor, and the dipping sauce was amazing—it was even frozen in the middle! I’m not writing this to be critical. I could have shared my feedback with the staff at the time, but I chose not to since they were getting busy, and I didn’t want to come across as one of "those customers." The garlic noodles with shrimp were also tremendously delicious!
