We came to dinner last night in Oahu. Wonderful choice! We decided to order a variety of small dishes and they were all wonderful! The cook stopped and chat with some diners. The place also has great art work. This is a hidden gem in a less tourist area and more people should visit! View all feedback.
By far our favorite meal on our trip! We made reservations and were thrilled to sit near the beautiful mural in the restaurant. Husband and I ordered a drink (him a NYC Fashioned and me a Lychee Ginger Chu hai). For appetizers, we have the maize bread, Hawaiian beef tars, and the Everyday I'm Brusselin' all good, but the Brussel spears were by far our favorite appetizer (we were tried to get another order). For our most important entrees I got the signature Tagliatelle alla shrimp bulgogi pork bolognese and it was so good! Husband got the **** schnitzel de lechon and the pig bell and sauce was good from this world. We couldn't help and pamper ourselves in dessert. The lemon depot was amazing and the Miso Soy was very tasty and I wish I knew the recipe. The staff was friendly and helpful. We loved our dinner so much, we looked very much back the next day, but have to visit again in the future. Love, love, LOVED our meal!
We had an absolutely dining experience at Kapa Hale. For starters the food was absolutely INCREDIBLE. Every dish from staters to dessert was fantastic. The chef personally came over to our table to see how everything was and have a chat which is always such a nice touch. The servers were outstanding, thoughtful, and we never wanted for anything. Also the cocktails were fantastic. Amazing fine dining take on local food experience that is pushing new boundaries as far as ingredients and combinations!
An absolutely lovely meal, experience, staff and chef. Every dish is thoughtful and artfully crafted. I really appreciate Chef’s story and vision for this space and menu. I simply cannot say enough nice things and we can’t wait until next time
Quaint restaurant with a variety of dishes to meet everyone’s palate. I enjoyed the cornbread with lilikoi butter as a starter. It’s not a sweet cornbread but rather a savory cornmeal loaf. The naan starter is nothing to rave home about, but it will satisfy your tikka masala craving. I definitely recommend the roasted sunchokes! The zucchini jun, however, wasn’t what I expected and tasted more like an eggy omelette rather than a Korean-style pancake. We also ordered two pasta dishes: butternut squash and the shrimp bulgogi tagliatelle. The butternut squash pasta was over cooked. I prefer a more al dente pasta. The tagliatelle was tasty and is enough for 2-3 people. Service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant interior is very stylish and cozy.
By far the best meal I've ever had. Hawaiian beef and Tako were both beautifully prepared and marvelous flavor. The butternut squash spaghetti was so creamy and fresh and full of flavor. The chocolate mud pie is literally heaven on earth. The chef is not only wonderfully talented but is very friendly, we had a nice chat with him as he made his rounds. Definitely worth a visit to this hole in the wall treasure.
