What a gem! Everything vegan from tempeh sandwiches to desserts to coffe and shakes. I’m in Honolulu for Thanksgiving and thoroughly enjoyed Peace Cafe’s Thanksgiving takeout. The meal consisted of a couple slices of a delicious homemade turkey substitute which was less dense than Tofurkey or Field Roast substitutes. Mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, cornbread and real stuffing with gravy complemented the main course perfectly. An apple cake topped off the meal for dessert.

Vegan eats review: Friendly staff and you can see the local love. Katsu Curry (ordered tempeh but got tofu but still yummy) black rice complements the mushroom gravy. Would love more cucumber and sprouts next time. Avo-veggie sandwich, soft bread andjust the right amount of sprouts to give it a lovely crunch. Both were healthy portions and left us feeling full satisfied andwith a smidgen extra for a snack later. Would love to try the Moroccan stew and other delicious sounding eats.

I came to Peace Cafe on a whim for my last meal in Hawaii before hopping on a plane back to the mainland United States, and wow...I truly could not have asked for a better final meal on the island! Peace Cafe offered some of the best vegan comfort foodI've ever had, drawing from Korean, Japanese, Moroccan, Mexican, and American cuisines to provide uniquely delicious dishes at areally reasonable price. While the takeout only operations took away a bit of the experience, I was honestly just so gratefulthat Peace Cafe was still open during the pandemic and that I was able to try out their amazing dishes! I opted for their katsuplate with tempeh, and it was absolutely incredible the breading on the katsu was delightfully crispy, and the tempeh wasremarkably flavorful. The katsu sauce was also amazing it had the most delightful curry flavor, and I honestly wish that Icould just buy a giant bottle of this and put it on everything I eat. Between the black and brown rice and massive tempehcutlet, the plate was incredibly filling, so I was really grateful for the little side salad and mixed greens to lighten up themeal. My friend tried out their katsu plate with tofu, so I had the opportunity to do a little side by side comparison of thetofu and tempeh both are absolutely delightful, but I, personally, thought that the texture of the tempeh paired a bit betterwith the rest of the plate. The tofu was softer and a bit more watery, but if you aren't the biggest fan of tempeh (or are justlooking for something with a softer consistency), the tofu is a really solid choice. One of my other friends tried out theirheart and Seoul, and also loved their vegan take on traditional Korean flavors. I honestly don't think you can go wrong withanything on their menu, and I can't wait to find my way to Hawaii again to try out some of their other dishes!
