I had the pork belly brulee, my wife had the spicy chicken bibimbop and we were stuffed. Excellent food in a sort of hole-in-the-wall atmosphere. Would definitely come back.
YUM! I usually have pics of my food but was too hungry and missed getting for my lunch, but it was amazing. Got the garbanzo curry, which was super intriguing as I read it on the menu. I was torn between the curry and 4 other dishes so I'll definitely have to go back and try the rest. I could taste the quality in all the ingredients, and I gotta say, there was broccoli in my curry best broccoli I've ever had in my life. Like if that's what broccoli taste like all the time, I'd eat it every day. Inside looks like a hole in the wall restaurant, so if you want to dine in, ask for the outdoor patio which is so much nicer. If you come at a busy time, make the reservation for outdoors.
I'm soo happy I finally got to try O'Kims! I heard soo many great reviews and recommendations about this place! Came here for lunch with my coworkers and we all absolutely loved it! We ordered the bibimbap, Korean chicken, and the truffle mandoo. It was all super delicious! The regular bibimbap has not meat but has soo many flavorful toppings! The mushrooms were my favorite! The Korean chicken is gochujang flavored and the crispness of the chicken was made to perfection! Not too much sauce which is what I also like too.The truffle mandoo is a vegetarian dish and is presented creatively with shoyu jelly and cubes of takuan. The dishes come with homemade kimchee, and I have to say the kimchee here is the best I've ever had. Wish they sold it separately so I can take some home! O'Kims is a korean based restaurant with a hint of fusion. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor atmosphere is really cute decorated with string of lights. The staffs are all very friendly and made out time here enjoyable. Will definitely come back and I can't wait to try more of their dishes. The portions of each dish is really big and we didn't have room for dessert, but i would like to try their popular corn ice cream next time.
Cozy Korean dining in Honolulu's Chinatown. Seating is limited so you may need to be patient but your patience will be rewarded. We had the bibimbap with spicy chicken, the Korean chicken, the kalbi beef, and the lasagna. The bibimbap was fresh and brightwith tender spicy chicken and savory mushrooms, tender greens, and crunchy bean sprouts. Fried to perfect, the Korean chicken issweet and spicy with potato croquettes and red rice. Melt in your mouth tender and savory is the best way to describe the kalbibeef and it came with fried pumpkin and potatoes with rice. Finally, the lasagna was filled with kalbi beef and cheese it wasdefinitely good but a little heavy and could have benefitted from some greens to add volume and freshness. We sat on the cuteback patio and it was a nice relaxed and delicious lunch.
The restaurant looks unassuming but it is definitely a gem. The store front looks like it has very limited seating but they will take you back to a cute patio lit with string lights for a nice ambience. The menu constantly changes with interesting optionsand lots of plant based vegan dishes which are clearly marked and helps people in making their choices. All the food wereinnovative and fun, we had the vegan mandoo and it came with a cubed soy sauce hello which elevated our dining experience. Allthe dishes were well plated and tasted even more amazing. I had black fish and chips, it was so yummy I forgot to take apicture, and I take pictures of everything!
