I had the beautifully prepared ono with butter caper, and it was quite good. However, the highlight for me was the warm, fresh cookies that were given to us by the restaurant. Overall, it was a lovely dining experience. View all feedback.
What Eric Arellano doesn't like about New Eagle Cafe:
Quick prompt service. The waitress was very kind and attentive. The food was spot on and the Pork Belly was delicious. I would reccomend this to anyone looking for a quick bite to eat. View all feedback.
This is the new establishment that took over in 2022, or so I've heard. The place has been completely renovated and looks fantastic. The menu has undergone significant changes, and I do miss the open-faced turkey sandwich and a few other items. I visited with my buddy Andrew (rest in peace); this was his favorite spot. I want to mention that the waitstaff is very polite and genuinely pleasant. You have to try the sizzling hamburger steak—it's delicious! Their macaroni salad is also quite tasty.
When we visited, the restaurant was quite empty, but it was clean. The service was pleasant, and our server charged us less because she thought the hotcakes weren’t as large as usual.
Although the restaurant was clearly under-staffed, the service was impressively good.

This is an honest diner. If you’re looking for a fancy kitchen or artistic plate presentations, or if you prefer a waiter who hovers over you, this isn’t the place for you. The kitchen doesn’t shift from breakfast to lunch with any frills. However, if you want delicious, generous, and affordable food, this is the spot to visit. We had a meat lover's feast and ordered the rib for two, which was around $38. It was tasty, satisfying, and there was so much that we needed two doggy bags to take home the leftovers. We used to have similar family diners within a few blocks of where we lived, but now we have to drive to get here—and it’s definitely worth it!
