The food is excellent. The tables are made of large wooden panels. The restaurant upholds high ethical standards.
The meal and everything else from our experience at Makana was fantastic!!! The food was expertly prepared with innovative seasonings and flavor combinations. This restaurant is truly unique in Honolulu and I love that the ingredients are so local and fresh. I already want to go back!!!

I have attempted to make reservations multiple times, but none have been successful for various reasons. It’s frustrating trying to reach them, as they don’t respond to inquiries, and their voicemail box is always full. Even if it isn’t, don’t expect a call back. While the place may be great for reducing your dining options, I wouldn’t recommend planning a meal here, or you might end up going hungry.
After receiving an email confirming our reservations, we arrived at the restaurant only to find it closed. It was a wasted effort and quite frustrating.
