Kulu Kulu - Honolulu

Recently, I went in with excitement to buy a cake for a baby gender reveal party, but she told me they couldn’t do that, even though the baker had confirmed it was possible, and other staff members were surprised by her response. After these experiences, I don’t think I will return. There’s another Kulu Kulu in Waikiki that’s farther away, but the staff there are friendly and have a nice local vibe.

This is a fantastic spot to enjoy cream-filled choux pastries. They aren't overly sweet, and the pastry itself is wonderfully fluffy.

I visited two times. Tried the caramel cream puff, the regular, the strawberry shortcake, and the soufflé cheesecake. Their cream here is really smooth and mildly sweet, which makes their cream puffs my favorite part of each visit.

Had to get the Konu bun just because it looked so cute! I Iove matcha so it was an easy choice. There was a great selection of cakes to choose from. The dough was light and fresh and the Konu was well filled with matcha cream. My complaint was that the cream was not very matcha-y and there was only a hint.

We found the cutest birthday cake! It was a turtle cream and strawberry cake. We also enjoyed some cold ume tea.
