Among all the offerings, the Thousand Year Egg Puff caught my attention the most. I bought two to split among the four of us. Unfortunately, I was expecting to taste the traditional pei don (thousand year egg), but I was disappointed to find some hard pieces of... something? I hope it was just dehydrated egg. Perhaps I just picked the wrong item. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and try something different next time. The shop itself was very clean and tidy, and the service was efficient. Plus, I was able to park for free in a loading zone since it was a Saturday!
I visited a small bakery in the Chinatown area, eager to try their guava and taro mochi rolls, as they offered a unique twist on the classic banana flavor. Unfortunately, I found the flavors lacking and prefer to stick with the traditional banana. It's definitely worth a visit to satisfy your curiosity, especially since the prices are quite affordable. Just keep in mind that there is no seating available and the service is friendly.
Where have I been all these years? Recently, I stumbled upon Jacky's Macau Cafe, and I'm so glad I did! Their bread products are incredibly soft, and the black bean and char siu manapua are absolutely delicious. The jung is fantastic too. Everything I tried was FRESH! After reading the other reviews, I can't wait to come back and try even more items from their menu.
Sweetest little lady runs this shop! We made a quick stop to get some manapua, it was absolutely delicious soft bun, flavorful pork! We came later in the day, so there wasn't much of anything left but I would've loved to be able to try some other things! FYI this place is cash only!
