Inaba Restaurant - Honolulu
Inaba Restaurant
Description
Inaba is a popular spot for authentic Japanese soba, with prices starting at around $12. Using high-quality ingredients directly from Japan, including buckwheat flour from Shinshu and bonito from Kyoto, Inaba creates delicious noodles with Hawaii's natural water and salt for maximum flavor. The tempura features organic local vegetables, enhancing every bite. Apart from soba, they also serve udon noodles in a cozy and special setting. While the food is delicious and the servers friendly, be sure to make a reservation in advance. Overall, Inaba is highly recommended for a true soba experience.

I'm so happy I've enjoyed real Soba just like in Japan!! Love Zaru soba!!! If you are a big fan of Soba then should get Zaru Soba instead of soup.
How have I never tried this place before?! I was just searching on yelp for a restaurant to have dinner at to celebrate my one year anniversary with my
Book in advance. We were able to park in a small amount. It's BYOB. Soba is both cold and hot. We tried the maguro natto and the natto tempura. I think the latter is not worth it. The large assorted tempura for us had 2 shrimps, 1 fish and like 4 random vegetables. They were delicious roasted but didn't feel very big. The Oshu Sushis are really good (both salmon ikura and the Makerel). But it might be cool for you. Good mood. There are also counter seats for Sashimi stoppers and tempura, if you are also interested. Enjoy!
Truly one of the best Soba restaurants in the area. This place convinced my soba-ambivalent friends to become soba fans. I highly recommend going hot with cold Soba dishes, as the heat will disintegrate the noodles quickly. True soba is made with 100% buckwheat, and you can really try the difference vs store-bought soba, which is a mix of buckwheat and wheat. My favorite is the hana soba containing tons of ikura, yam and uni. Its texture could rub off those who are not familiar with grated yams, but the dish is so refreshing. You really can't go wrong with one of the dishes here. Tempura is also made exceptionally good here! I ordered the half-eals (anago) tempura and really loved her. Make sure you request a reservation! I made a Res for my big group of 8 a week in advance.
Super authentic and delicious meal. Soba was out of this world. The quality of the sashimi as well. The servers are super friendly and nice. But I had to take one star off because food took 30+ minutes to arrive after ordering. Since this restaurant does not serve alcohol (byob for a fee only), we were sitting there bored waiting.
