Was Randy Kosuga at Cho Dang a mag?
I have been coming here for many years now and have never been disappointed. I always have Spicy Pork as this is my favorite Korean food. Served on a sizzling platter. Tasty, spicy and very Flavorarable. A bowl of rice and 7 side dishes compliment the meal. I have been to many Korean Places to eat and everywhere I go I always eat Spicy Pork. Most places are more BBQ style then spicy so I am very pleased to eat at a p... View all feedback.
What Tamee Bae dislikes about Cho Dang:
I ordered the soft tofu and bulgogi set, and the soft tofu was served in just 3 minutes. However, it didn’t include any eggs. The bulgogi was tough and overly salty, almost as if it was made from leftovers. The side dishes also tasted old, like they had been left over from the previous day. If you're considering dining here around 7 PM and then heading to Honolulu, think again. I returned to my hotel and went to Tosa... View all feedback.
This is the worst Korean food I have ever had in my life. The kimchi pancake was mushy and oily, and other dishes also felt like pre-made dishes, stale and tasteless. The store is not hygienic. When we were inside near the kitchen, I saw broken Korean cultural masks on the wall, and some black oil stained near the ceiling. When checking out, the landlady looked very ugly because she had to split the bill with her friends. Finally, he yelled that you shouldn’t ask for change! Tip me! ! ! I banged the empty tip bottle at the cashier and asked us to tip. Even though I knew there is a tipping culture in the United States, I was really shocked and insisted on walking away with the change. Any restaurant near the shopping center will be better than here. I sincerely recommend that you go elsewhere. This is the worst Korean food I have ever had in my life. The kimchi pancake was burnt and greasy, and the other dishes felt like pre-made meals, not fresh and tasteless. The hygiene in the restaurant was poor. We were seated near the kitchen, and I noticed there was a broken Korean cultural mask on the wall. The closer to the ceiling, the more black oil stains there were. When it was time to pay, we asked to split the bill with friends, and the owner's wife looked very annoyed. Finally, she shouted loudly, saying we shouldn't ask for change and demanded a tip! She kept banging on the tip jar at the cash register, insisting we give a tip. Even though I know tipping is customary in the U.S., I was really shocked and insisted on taking my change and leaving. Honestly, any restaurant near the mall would be better than this one. I sincerely recommend you go somewhere else. It tastes terrible. The landlady is discriminating against the customers. The environment in the store is bad. Run away. This is the best Korean food!シーバー!
Do not recommend if you’re not familiarized with the korean culture. The workers and servers take pride in service only towards people who look, speak or act like them. If you’re not Korean, not even of an asian ethnicity or any type of foreigner that is NOT KOREAN don’t think to come here. Service is poor and the food quality really depends on the first impression of how you look or speak while ordering. It’s an old run down hole in the wall, ran by racists and supported by a loyal korean dominated customer base. All people from EVERY ETHNIC BACKGROUND AND STATUS should be welcomed into a paying establishment with the same respect and dignity they walked in intending with.
It’s decent food but not for the price of being belittled by rude Korean woman who doesn’t treat well paying customers with the same courtesy and respect as she would a Korean customer. I love small local businesses like this but I hate seeing the discrimination amongst the older generation of business owners. It’s that same older woman who’s been known for being rude to other customers as well, I love the Korean culture and their love for foods but this very rude woman is poor representation of her business and background. Don’t support this establishment and allow them to continue mistreating people for being a certain ethnicity.
Skip the overpriced AYCE places that represent 1/16 of what Koreans eat and come here. The menu is broad and covers (darn near) everything: jjigaes, mandu kuk, dok mandu kuk, soon toobu, kalbi, etc, etc. This is Korean food that a Korean mom would make, assuming she is a great cook. There is plenty of parking and the prices are great. The service was great, she went out of her way to painstakingly give us directions. Hands down the best meal we had while in Oahu. Parking: You can either park in front of the restaurant or in the Ala Moana Shopping Center
I ordered soft tofu and bulgogi set, and the soft tofu came out in 3 minutes...There are no eggs included.Bulgogi is stiff and salty. It looks like it came from leftover food. The side dishes seemed to be leftovers or a day old.Have dinner here around 7 and head to Honolulu.Return to the hotel and go to Tosakkwakran.Hives appear on my faceI had a hard time sleeping all night.I spoke to the boss the next day.Boil the stew in advanceJust put it as orderedIt would be better not to go.
