The portion size at Big Kiwi could be improved considering the price of $24. The cappuccino we ordered lacked flavor and wasn't as strong or rich as we would have liked. However, the pie was tasty, and the atmosphere was pleasant.
The food was amazing, the service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was incredibly inviting. I highly recommend it—10 out of 10!
I stopped by for breakfast and had a wonderful experience. The waffles with berries were delicious, and the wait staff were great. Thanks to the team for making our breakfast enjoyable. My wife particularly loved the whitebait!
This is decent cafe with GREAT WiFi ! All most all other cafes in this town only give you 50MB free. So cheap! But cafe 39 is good to sit and hang out. It has a large seating area and also an outdoor space (see photos March 2018). Light background music. Cheerful waitstaff. The pies are just “OK”. The quiche is “good”. We really enjoyed our time at this cafe, especially in the outdoor patio section! If you go, try it out you get lots of natural light.
Great coffee, good food, well presented. Cafe tidy, spacious. Staff professional and helpful. Definitely a place to go on Hokitika.
