This is the best Chinese restaurant in Hobart. It is obviously not the Sydney standards of Chinese, but it is solid and more or less authentic and consistently delicious. View all feedback.
What Jamil Mills doesn't like about Written on Tea:
Probably the worst Chinese I ate. The menu said 'sauteed chicken with Chili' and when he arrived, it was only choked chicken ends with chicken bones and wing bits. Only terrible and talk about Overkill with onions and very greasy. Also, "Pork belly with Chili" ordered, and there was more onion as a pork and no real taste. View all feedback.

Three of us served on the tea in Bathurst St, Hobart on December 29, 2016. I'm glad it was to be Bylo when we took our own wine. I think Corkage is about 3 dollars. We started with spring rolls, hot and crispy with a sweet chili sauce. Our appetizers included steamed pork dumplings with a chili sauce on the side. Everything delicious for networks we divided three dishes ... dry french beans with chopped pork and spicy sauce. Beautiful textures and flavors. We wanted to order the fried kai lan in ginger sauce ... the waitress explained that she had no fresh quay lan this day. She suggested the Bok Choy, and we also asked a ginger and garlic sauce. It was fresh with a piece of crunch and the sauce worked well. Our third divided dish was fried rice noodles with pickled bamboo shooting and cut chicken. It tasted fresh and was a good contrast to the other two dishes. We also shared a little steamed rice. The food was interesting and varied, the waiting staff were friendly. It was a short walk from the CBD and the dock. It was quiet at night, in which we ate, but there were about three more tables from Walk-ins, as we went before we went. Would like to dine there again.

"If you can say nothing good, they say nothing at all," 2.5 for the wine list, the food was forgotten. No atmosphere, service OK. Fit out was nice, good room, typical lighting, is this 140 characters?
