The staff were lovely and friendly. The Monte Carlo biscuits were to “die for”. All up everything was nice and fresh and the overall experience was enjoyable. Recommended stop on the journey up or down (both?? on Mt Wellington
Having been to the top of Mount Wellington we stopped into Lost Freight Cafe for a late morning coffee, what a location, a lovely sunny warm cafe. My espresso was the best coffee that I had in Hobart, I raved about it for the rest...of my holiday on my quest to find more good espresso. The melting moment biscuit was a real joy to eat. Highly recommend.
Stopped here with my 2.5 year old on a bike ride. Coffee was great, babycino was well crafted, brownie was delicious. Very friendly staff. Definitely stopping in next time we manage to get ourselves up that high.
We drove up Mount Wellington to enjoy Lost Freight Cafe on a hot summer’s day weren’t disappointed. Parking for free steps away from the cafe set up in a shipping container. Impressed by the amount of options given the remote location. Vegan friendly. Enjoyed...a iced latte with oat milk. Little one had a soft drink and a biscuit. Tables, toilets rubbish bins in the immediate area. Prices reasonable and will definitely return.
What a warm welcome to Mt Wellington the Lost freight Cafe is both in terms of super friendly staff and hot food and drinks. We were impressed with the attention to details probing both of our pies with a temperature gauge to make sure...they were heated just right. No mouth burning pie warmer trauma here! The friendly staff also cheerfully brought our coffees out to our table (some distance away) when ready despite being reasonably busy. Great service all round. The only negative might be a need to queue/wait as the facility is too small. While we can understand the desire for unobtrusiveness, it seems to us that with increasing numbers travelling the mountain, that a larger 'cafe ' could be justified.
