This was for Horst Wagner's 8... read more This Adler hotel is situated on the outskirts of Hinterzarten, and is situated in a huge garden, actually on the edge of a forest. This was for Horst Wagner's 80th birthday celebration, attended by 60+ people from all over the world. First, on arrival, we...met for drinks far away from the pools and other guests in a part of the garden we were to return to after lunch for Schwarzwalderkuchen and coffee in another corner of the endless garden. The Adlerstuben restaurant is an endless honeycomb of private eating rooms. The highlight for me was the main dish...tender delicious veal. I'd say my favourite creme brulee dessert could have been better. The service and attention was superb, efficient, cheerful and never intrusive despite many speeches. This whole environment lends a fairy tale experience.

Very good quality, nice staff, beautiful environment and good balance of price / quality. We definitely come back for dinner or another big coffee break. A really... beautiful place to stay!
