Great beignets! The owner is incredibly friendly and keeps the place impressively clean. If you're a dog lover you just stop by. The bully mascot even has his own doggo house and stuffy replica. It's super cute with great lively jazz. Bring your appetite because the portions are wonderfully filling and truly the best. Hands down this is a go-to for great food! View all feedback.
This is a “hidden” gem for HHI! Just off island, it is a wonderful Cajun restaurant with NOLA and UGA themes. Order at the front counter and the food is out quickly. We had blackened scallops and jambalaya and both were excellent. We’ve got several more menu options to try! Beignets are fantastic too
My wife and I stopped in here one night for dinner over Labor Day weekend based on good reviews. We ordered a steamed shrimp appetizer to share, two entrees (Taste Of The Bayou and the choose 2 dinner basket with grilled shrimp and scallops) and a dessert to share. This is a mixed review. First out was the cornbread and gumbo. The cornbread was absolutely fantastic, the gumbo was just OK and needed some help with the spices, too much rice, not enough proteins. Next out after a wait came the dinner basker and the rest of the Taste of the Bayou. We asked about our appetizer that we did not receive and was told it would be out in a few minutes. The grilled shrimp was almost inedible because the shells would not come off, the grilled scallops were very good. The shrimp etouffee was OK, but bland and needed some help with some spices. The jambalaya seemed like it might have been good at lunch time, but it was dried out as if it were sitting in a bain marie pot for hours, red beans and rice was similar, fresh rice was added on top. All of the food should have been served over rice, not under the rice. When the steam shrimp appetizer finally arrived, it was very good. I had to go ask for our dessert, which was good when it arrived. Maybe it was a bad day, but I lived in the New Orleans area for over 20 years and still visit my home there frequently. This restaurant would not survive in New Orleans for long. BTW, I loved the atmosphere and the Saints and Mardi Gras decor.
Authentic Cajun/Creole cuisine. We enjoyed it so much we came back a second day in a row. A lot made in house, friendly laid back atmosphere! Would definitely recommend! Kid-friendliness: Our boys (5 7) loved it. They ate in the playhouse size 'dog house ' and had their meal out of dog bowls. It only sounds weird, it 's very cool to the kids!
Lavern has been there all along greeting and serving and Kenny steady cooking great food! Love the new location!
First time since the move to Bluffton. Excellent. Waited too long.
