Description

Ruby Lee’s blends soulful Southern cooking, crafted cocktails and regular live music in a cozy Hilton Head setting. Diners praise standout seafood, desserts and lively entertainment, while complaints note inconsistent food and slow service, reservation mix-ups, a brusque owner, cramped seating and a buggy, dimly lit patio. Expect an entertainment cover on band nights—great for celebrations if you can tolerate occasional service and quality lapses.

The manager was extremely accommodating, and the food was even better. We only stopped in for takeout, but we enjoyed listening to the band while we waited—they were a blast! The atmosphere was truly exceptional. If you're in search of authentic soul food, you definitely shouldn't miss this place. I just wish we could have tipped more!

This is an excellent place! We make it a point to visit every time we're in Hilton Head. The food is amazing, the live band is always entertaining, and it's an overall experience you can't miss.

This restaurant is fantastic! It's a hidden gem in Hilton Head. The music, food, and service were all excellent! We had such a great time! Make sure to try the greens if you visit—they're delicious!

Outstanding! We had a great time the other night. Tim greeted us warmly and gave us a table right next to the stage. Little did we know how lucky we were (more on that later). Paula was our waitstaff and she was friendly and helpful. Our food came quickly, especially for a busy Sat night. We ordered shrimp and grits, fried chicken plate, seafood platter, and low country boil. All were flavorful and all of our portions were large enough to share, so everyone could have a taste. Then the band came in. Bowman Hill Experience. What a night! They played for almost 3 hours non-stop, including blues, old school, R&B, and even a couple of requests. Pam, the face of the group, was engaging, funny, and very talented. If you ever have the chance to see them, go out of your way if necessary. The night was a blast and we will be sure to return on our next visit to Hilton Head.

We vacationed from New Bern. This spot was wonderful. Friendly fun atmosphere. Food was excellent, service outstanding, clean, the band had us dancing the night away. Prices very reasonable.
