We sat outside at this restaurant and couldn't order from the inside checkout due to the stairs. However, the staff stationed outside was very attentive and friendly, taking our order and bringing us our food. We give her 4 golden stars for her excellent service. Buffos is an institution in Highwood, with a mostly local clientele. I am sure that years ago, when the food was made fresh in-house, the reputation was warranted. These days, the food is average reminiscent of Sysco ready-made dishes. I cannot speak for the pizza, but the other apps and dishes are nothing to write home about. I've Frequented Buffo's since the 1980's while drilling in the Army Reserve. ALWAYS GREAT AT A PRETTY FAIR PRICE.
Home of the best pizza in Illinois. Try a double decker pizza
I used to work at this restaurant 25 years ago, and back then it had the best pizza in town. Even to this day, it still holds that title. I don't think they have changed the sauce recipe at all in all these years. The double decker pizza has always been the star of the menu, and if you haven't tried it yet, you're definitely missing out.
I love Buffos pizza! I stopped in tonight and they had spaghetti and meatball pizza on special. It was sooo amazing. Just when I thought their pizza couldn't get any better...
