Feedback
We had a great dining experience at The Arch Inn. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly. I ordered the scallops and a side of greens, both of which were perfectly prepared. We also tried the smoked chicken starter, which was a bit too strong for our liking. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was a wonderful way to end the meal. Overall, we would definitely dine here again.
When we arrived there was a note that the kitchen was closed. The barman apologised for not letting us know, so it was rather disappointing!
A bit of a disappointment as the dining area is a stark, almost windowless room. The pub attached looked cozy and fun though no seats to be had. Food was good as was service. I’d give it another go easily for a pub seat.
My meal was lovely. Cullen Skink and scallops with pork cheek. My wife's mussels were rather over salted and sauce lacking cream, although appreciate that is personal taste. What really loses stars is that 1hr 20mins after being seated, whilst finishing off our £30 bottle of wine, we were asked to vacate our table for other diners. It was a very busy Friday night and the poor staff were rushed off their feet, so we didn't complain at the time, and simply got up and left. But 1hr 20mins for a meal really is not long, especially as we waited 25 minutes for our main course after we finished our starter! So it felt very money-grabbing by the Arch Inn and spolit what would have otherwise been a 4/5 star meal.
