Mama's Pizza - Hewitt

Like I mentioned in my review of Spectrum, a nearby Greek restaurant, this was my second choice on that unfortunate Wednesday night. I absolutely love pizza—who doesn't?—but this was my FIRST AUTHENTIC Chicago pizza experience. Kudos to the manager for upholding a 70s tradition with truly outstanding pizza! I was informed that it would take about 40 minutes for my delicious meal to be ready, and since the circumstances were modest, I couldn't wait inside. That was totally fine. I went for a little while and returned excited to finally taste it! The local staff was friendly, which made the entire experience even better than my previous food attempt. I will definitely eat here again. In fact, my colleague is coming on the 27th, and this will be his spot for the evening! Bravo, #TeamConnie!

If you're in Chicago, you absolutely must try Connie's pizza—it is incredibly delicious and cooked to perfection. The staff takes their time and is very attentive to your needs. They really listened to me when I mentioned it was my first time and my concerns about mixed reviews, and they went above and beyond to exceed my expectations. For this reason, I wholeheartedly give this restaurant a five-star rating. They truly know what they're doing, and it's clear they have been dedicated to quality for a long time!

I really enjoyed the pizza here. It is certainly a pizza in the style of Chicago as it has the beautiful thick crust. Since it was in Congress Centre, I think the price was usually higher, but it's better than getting McDonald's on the way.

I tried the deep plate and a wood-fired dish, and both were excellent!
