Friendly small town feel. The biscuits and gravy were good, but I did not like my eggs. They were dry.
The place was filthy and didn't look like it had been cleaned since it first opened. First impression walking in, every table had crumbs and food stains. After I cleaned my table I started to further inspect the area. The walls, ceiling, blinds, table condiments, napkin holder, salt pepper shaker all filthy. This was old filth from months if not years lack of basic cleaning. This is what the public can see, I can only imagine how disgusting the kitchen is! I will not be returning to the Herrin IL Burger Nook.
This restaurant has been around for over 50 years, and you can see it in the pricing—it's quite affordable. You really can't beat the price of their chicken salad sandwich for just $4.99, especially when it comes with a side!
